Crypto slips as the market trims risk
Bitcoin and ether fall, while the total crypto market cap loses ground.
Crypto trades lower across the board. Bitcoin falls 1.8% to 62,187.4102, Ethereum slips 1.8% to 1,737.46, Solana drops 4.2% to 77.24, and XRP loses 1.9% to 1.0902. BNB falls 1.7% and Dogecoin declines 2.4%.
The total crypto market cap drops 1.9% to $2.2T. Bitcoin dominance sits at 56.0%, and Ethereum dominance is 9.4%. That mix shows Bitcoin still holding the biggest share even as the whole asset class backs away from risk.
CoinDesk headlines in the payload point to crypto moving with stocks after Trump declares the ceasefire 'over' following Iran strikes. That fits today’s tape, where the same geopolitical headlines that boost oil also weigh on speculative assets.
There are still isolated pockets of strength in related equities. TeraWulf gains 12.8%, Hut 8 rises 9.7%, and Nebius Group climbs 10.9% in the marketwide movers. But the broader crypto complex ends the day in the red.
