Bitcoin holds near flat as the crypto market adds a little value
Crypto is calmer than stocks, with Bitcoin barely changed and the total market cap up 0.2%.
Bitcoin edges up 0.1% to 63,923.8, while Ethereum slips 0.8% to 1,905.2. Solana falls 0.1%, XRP rises 0.7%, BNB is flat, and Dogecoin drops 0.9%.
The total crypto market cap rises 0.2% to $2.3T, while Bitcoin dominance stands at 56.5% and Ethereum dominance at 10.1%. That mix says the market is still leaning toward Bitcoin even as the larger complex barely moves.
The broader risk backdrop is not exactly friendly, with U.S. equities down, the VIX above 20, and oil surging. Even so, crypto avoids the kind of big directional move that shows up in stocks and rates. Bitcoin remains below its 200-day average, and the major tokens mostly trade in narrow bands.
CoinDesk headlines point to a quieter crypto tape, including a note that perpetual futures activity is shifting Ethereum’s role. But the price data itself stays muted, which is the main story of the day.
