Levi beats, and a busy after-close slate starts now

Retail and consumer names headline a packed earnings calendar.

Levi Strauss beats quarterly expectations, raises guidance, and lifts its dividend, according to CNBC Earnings. The stock-specific reaction is not provided in the earnings feed, but the headline puts one of today’s notable consumer reports in the win column.

The marketwide movers list shows plenty of action around individual names, with PENG up 25.1%, WULF up 12.8%, and BABA up 11.1% among the gainers. On the downside, ALHC falls 16.7%, SYF loses 9.6%, and OLLI drops 9.0%. Those moves show that single-stock earnings and positioning still matter even on a macro-heavy day.

The next reports to watch are CAG, LEVI, PSMT, AZZ, and HELE after the close today, then PEP before the open on July 9. DAL follows on July 10. That gives the market a steady stream of consumer and travel names to digest over the next two sessions.

CNBC Earnings also flags other follow-on storylines, including Samsung’s profit jump and a few big AI and defense names in motion. But with oil, rates, and geopolitics dominating the tape, earnings are sharing the stage rather than owning it.
