Index funds track the broad market rebound
Major stock funds finish higher, bond funds are mixed, and gold funds lag the metal bounce.
The big equity funds echo the day’s broad rally. SPY rises 0.9%, VFIAX gains 0.3%, FXAIX adds 0.3%, VTI climbs 0.9%, and VTSAX gains 0.4%. QQQ outperforms, up 1.7%, while IWM rises 1.3%.
International exposure also works better than a day ago. EFA gains 0.5%, tracking the overseas rebound in parts of Asia and the softer dollar.
Bond funds are flatter. TLT rises 0.1%, but VBTLX falls 0.1% and VWELX slips 0.3%.
Gold exposure lags the metal move in this data set, with GLD up 1.0% but still below its 200-day moving average.
