Earnings

Earnings season stays front and center

Banks, insurers, health care and airlines headline a packed day of reports.

Today’s earnings calendar is crowded. ELV, JNJ, MS, UAL, BLK, PNC and BNY are all scheduled, with JBHT, CTAS and MTB also on deck. That keeps financials, health care and transport in focus.

CNBC Earnings says United tops estimates but warns of 6 billion in added fuel costs, a read-through that lines up with today’s energy spike. CNBC also says Morgan Stanley posts record quarterly revenue and profit as equities trading surges 69%.

Other earnings headlines note J&J falling despite a beat-and-raise quarter, ASML raising its sales forecast for the second time this year, and IBM suffering its worst day on record after an earnings warning.

Watchlists are already moving on earnings names and AI-linked stocks. PYPL jumps 17.2%, while INTC falls 4.4%, and watchlist names like AAPL, ORCL, COIN, GOOGL and META all post gains.
