Treasury yields climb as credit and bond funds slip

Rates move higher across the curve, while bond proxies and credit funds trade lower.

Treasury yields rise across the curve. The 5-year moves up 1.0% to 4.37, the 10-year adds 0.7% to 4.628, and the 30-year increases 0.2% to 5.13.

Bond funds mostly finish lower. TLT falls 0.3%, VBTLX slips 0.2%, and LQD declines 0.3%. MUB also loses 0.2%. HYG is nearly flat, down 0.04%.

The move comes alongside hotter-looking risk gauges elsewhere in the market. The VIX rises 2.9% to 17.55, and the 9-day VIX jumps 20.5% to 16.85. That keeps the bond tape tied to the day’s broader risk backdrop rather than to any one rate headline.

Among fixed-income proxies, LQD is under pressure and sits below its 200-day average, while HYG remains above both its 50-day and 200-day averages.
