Earnings parade starts with chips, cloud, and telecom
A packed slate of reports from Google, Tesla, IBM, AT&T, and others gives traders plenty to chew on.
Today’s earnings calendar is heavy. GOOGL, T, TSLA, IBM, PM, MOH, GEV, LUV, TXN, TEL, RS, KMI, PHM, NOW, CSX, RJF, OTIS, LVS, WAB, and CYH are all due today, with a mix of before-open and after-close reports.
The market is already leaning into semis. Marketwide gainers include AEHR, NBIS, CBRS, OUST, AAOI, and AXT, while the watchlist shows MU up 12.2%, INTC up 8.6%, AMD up 8.1%, and SMCI up 7.0%. CNBC Earnings also flags Super Micro’s margin disclosure and TSMC’s latest investment plans.
On the losing side, the day’s marketwide laggards include DHR, MSCI, TENB, FIG, TTAN, QLYS, BRZE, and NICE. That gives the tape a split feel, even as the major indexes close higher.
Reuters says Wall Street ends higher on a chip stocks recovery, and that tracks with the strong showing in tech. The next read comes from the earnings releases themselves, which should tell whether the rally has fundamentals behind it or just momentum.
