Insurance watches AI exclusions and fresh litigation

Insurance news centers on underwriting discipline, litigation, and balance-sheet updates rather than broad market price moves.

Insurance Journal says insurer interest in AI exclusions is growing as the risk becomes omnipresent. That theme fits a market where AI-related exposure keeps moving from theory into policy language.

The same roundup includes Judge approval of Anthropic’s 1.5 billion settlement of a copyright lawsuit and Amgen’s settlement of a shareholder suit tied to a 10.7 billion tax bill. Insurance Journal also reports Marsh revenue up 6% in Q2, with the reinsurance unit down 2%, and WR Berkley posting a 12.7% increase in Q2 net income.

Aon is also expanding its data center lifecycle program capacity again, now to $5B. That is another sign of how specialty coverage keeps stretching around AI infrastructure and digital buildouts.

There is no single market-wide insurance price move in the data today, so the story is the list itself: more AI risk, more legal risk, and more capacity being set aside for concentrated exposures.
