Intel surges, Tesla sinks and a big earnings slate lands
One chipmaker wins, one EV giant stumbles and a long list of major names reports after the bell or before it.
Intel is the standout winner. CNBC says the stock jumps as the chipmaker rides the AI boom to the fastest revenue growth in almost 15 years. INTC appears in the most-active list with 111,630,889 shares traded and closes at 100.23, down 2.3% on the day despite the earlier earnings-driven move.
Tesla is the opposite story. CNBC Earnings says the stock tumbles after its call, and the marketwide losers list shows TSLA down 14.5% to 319.69. MarketWatch says the company’s post-earnings wipeout is massive, with investors reacting to plans to spend aggressively.
Other names move sharply ahead of or around earnings. Oracle falls 4.6% to 120.04 despite CNBC’s report of a 10-year Pentagon software contract worth up to $7B. Alphabet drops 7.1% to 317.69, Amazon loses 4.6% to 233.66 and ServiceNow-related AI concerns show up in the headlines.
The next batch is still coming. Today’s schedule includes Comcast, T-Mobile, RTX, Lockheed Martin, American Airlines, Intel, DOW, Thermo Fisher, Honeywell, Freeport-McMoRan, Norfolk Southern and others across the before-open and after-close windows.
