Crypto fades as the broader market trims risk
Bitcoin and ether drift lower, and the total crypto market cap slips below $2.3T.
Crypto ends the day lower across the board. Bitcoin falls 1.5% to 64095.4688, Ethereum drops 1.0% to 1857.9301, and Solana sinks 2.8% to 73.76. XRP loses 1.6%, BNB slips 0.6%, and Dogecoin is flat.
The total crypto market cap falls 1.3% to $2.3T, while Bitcoin dominance sits at 56.6% and Ethereum dominance at 9.9%. Bitcoin remains above its 50-day moving average, but still below its 200-day.
The news flow is mixed but mostly not about price. CoinDesk highlights institutional trading, Strategy’s bitcoin metrics, and a bullish options setup, while Reuters and CNBC coverage elsewhere keeps the market focused on tariffs, war risk and oil. For now, crypto follows the broader risk-off tone rather than breaking away from it.
