Index funds slip as large-cap tech loses ground
Broad U.S. equity funds finish lower, while bond and balanced funds stay under pressure.
Equity funds mirror the day’s mixed stock tape. VFIAX and FXAIX both fall 1.2%, VTSAX loses 1.1%, and VTI slips 0.03%. DIA rises 0.5%, matching the Dow’s outperformance, while QQQ drops 1.1%.
International exposure is steadier. EFA gains 0.5% and remains above both its 50-day and 200-day moving averages.
Fixed-income and balanced funds are weaker. VBTLX falls 0.2%, TLT adds 0.1%, and VWELX drops 1.0%. That keeps the fund complex aligned with a market where rates stay elevated and equity leadership stays narrow.
