Treasury yields ease as longer debt catches a bid
Bond prices firm and yields drift lower across the curve.
Treasury yields finish lower across the curve. The 5-year yield falls 0.8% to 4.361%, the 10-year yield drops 0.8% to 4.604%, and the 30-year yield declines 0.6% to 5.096%.
The move comes with ETF proxies also firmer. TLT rises 0.6%, while LQD adds 0.3%, HYG gains 0.2%, and MUB rises 0.2%.
The bigger picture still shows yields well above their 200-day averages, with the 5-year, 10-year, and 30-year all above those levels. That keeps the rate backdrop tight even after today’s pullback.
Credit is steadier than sovereign rates. LQD remains below its 200-day average, while HYG and MUB stay above theirs.
