Oil, gold, and industrial metals all fade
Energy prices pull back, while grains and coffee keep climbing.
WTI crude falls 1.7% to 81.23 and Brent drops 2.8% to 85.92. Nat gas also sells off, down 3.1% to 2.68.
Refined fuels move even harder, with gasoline down 4.9% to 3.1636. The bigger energy complex still shows large gains over one month, but today’s tape is red across the board.
Precious metals soften too. Gold falls 1.2% to 4023.8, silver drops 2.0% to 57.325, and platinum slips 0.5% to 1611.9. Copper is nearly flat at 6.3385, down 0.0%.
Agriculture is the outlier. Corn jumps 6.5% to 481.0, coffee rises 4.9% to 340.5, soybeans add 0.9% to 1219.75, and wheat gains 0.7% to 664.75. Cocoa rises 2.1% to 5206.0.
