Ford lifts guidance as more megacap reports loom

Earnings season is steering stocks in very different directions, from autos to semis.

Ford raises guidance after a Q2 earnings beat and says F-Series recovery is on track. CNBC says the company cites operational improvements, resilient vehicle pricing, and a high sales mix of profitable products.

Ford is on the earnings calendar today, alongside CNC and BA before the open and UPS, KO, V, MDLZ, WM, OMC, and others around the same date. That keeps a heavy slate in play right as markets are sorting winners from losers.

The bigger story this week is the push into megacap tech. CNBC says Amazon, Meta, and Microsoft face skeptical investors after the Google report sparked a selloff, while MarketWatch says Micron’s stock sinks toward its worst monthly drop in 11 years as China fears escalate.

Other earnings headlines reinforce the split tape. MarketWatch says Seagate’s results are welcome news for the battered AI trade, while CNBC says Boeing posts a wider loss than expected and Coca-Cola is about to report. In other words, this is still an earnings market, just not one where every beat gets rewarded the same way.
