Bitcoin holds gains as the crypto market inches higher
Digital assets rise modestly, but Bitcoin still sits below its 200-day trend.
Crypto trades higher, with Bitcoin up 1.6% to 64929.75, Ethereum up 1.1% to 1929.37, Solana up 1.6% to 74.78, and XRP up 1.4% to 1.0874. BNB stands out with a 3.7% gain to 592.68, while Dogecoin rises 1.0% to 0.0708.
The total crypto market cap increases 1.3% to $2.3T, and Bitcoin dominance sits at 56.6% versus 10.1% for Ethereum. Bitcoin remains below its 200-day average, while Ethereum, Solana, XRP, BNB, and Dogecoin also stay under theirs.
CoinDesk headlines focus on Coinbase after a disappointing second quarter and on Strategy booking an $8.2 billion Q2 loss on bitcoin price decline. Even with those headlines in the mix, the broader crypto tape closes green.
