Asia leads a mixed global session
Japan jumps, China edges higher, and Europe is mostly quiet as U.S. risk appetite improves.
Global equities are mixed but mostly firmer outside a few pockets. The Nikkei 225 jumps 4.03%, the Hang Seng adds 0.1%, and the Shanghai Composite rises 0.72%. The ASX 200 inches up 0.1%, while the Sensex gains 0.21%.
Europe is steadier. The FTSE 100 slips 0.1%, the DAX edges up 0.07%, the CAC 40 rises 0.28%, and the Stoxx 600 dips 0.12%. The TSX falls 0.79%, while the Bovespa ends unchanged.
The data shows a market that is leaning back toward risk, but not uniformly. U.S. stocks rally, Asia is mostly positive, and Europe is close to flat. Several overseas benchmarks remain well above their 200-day averages, including the Nikkei, Hang Seng, DAX, CAC 40, Stoxx 600, ASX 200, and FTSE 100.
