Wayfair and AMD steal the post-earnings spotlight
A mixed earnings batch fuels some of the day’s biggest stock moves, from a 30% pop in Wayfair to a lower AMD close.
Wayfair is the biggest winner in the earnings pileup, jumping 30.0% after CNBC says the retailer posts its strongest U.S. growth since 2020. Palantir also rips 29.5% on heavy volume, while Paymentus gains 29.2%.
AMD is the other marquee name on the board, but CNBC says the stock is down even after revenue climbs 50% and data center sales doubled. The headline shows how high the bar is for names already tied to the AI trade.
Other earnings movers include Paramount Skydance, which raises full-year profit guidance and stays confident about its WBD merger, and Lucid, which says it is in an operational reset and will delay its midsize vehicle. Novo Nordisk also slips after guidance disappoints investors.
The common thread is that the market is rewarding clear upside and punishing anything that looks like a miss or a reset. That dynamic is visible in the day’s most active names, especially the chip and software complex.
