Big U.S. funds slip, cash keeps rotating

Index funds and broad market ETFs edge lower even as the week stays positive.

The main U.S. stock funds finish lower. SPY falls 0.2% to 768.56, QQQ drops 0.4% to 714.65, DIA loses 0.9% to 538.19, and IWM declines 0.5% to 298.25.

Despite the day-to-day pullback, the weekly picture stays green. SPY is up 3.6% over 1 week, QQQ is up 4.6%, and VTI adds 3.5%.

On the bond side, TLT slips 0.6% to 82.52, while GLD is flat at 389.67 and still up 3.3% over 1 week. That fits with the day’s split between stronger commodity prices and higher Treasury yields.

Mixed positioning shows up in the options data too. SPY put volume tops call volume, with a 1.26 put-call ratio, while QQQ posts a 1.11 ratio.
