Bitcoin and Ethereum slip as crypto market cap shrinks

Digital assets trade lower, with the total market cap down 1.37% and Bitcoin still short of its long-term trend.

Bitcoin falls 1.4% to $63,924.25. Ethereum drops 1.9% to $1,872.09. Solana is nearly flat at minus 0.1%, while XRP slides 1.9% and BNB dips 0.6%. Dogecoin adds 0.4%.

The broader crypto market cap falls 1.37% to $2.7T, while Bitcoin dominance holds at 56.5% and Ethereum dominance sits at 10.0%. That means the market is shrinking a bit, but Bitcoin still carries the biggest share of the space.

The news flow is mixed. CNBC Markets highlights Trump Media’s $238 million second-quarter loss as crypto declines, while CoinDesk flags Strategy’s activity and a separate report on Bitcoin holdings. The session’s price action does not show a clean risk-on tone, even with some bullish strategy headlines in the mix.

Bitcoin remains below its 200-day average in the data, and Ethereum does too. XRP also stays below its longer-term trend line. The crypto tape is softer than the equity tape and does not participate in the day’s energy-led bounce.
