The dollar is flat, but yen and reais move
FX is choppy, with the dollar index unchanged and several pairs making modest moves.
The dollar index finishes flat at 99.812. Against major peers, EUR/USD slips 0.1% to 1.1546, GBP/USD rises 0.1% to 1.351, and USD/CHF gains 0.3% to 0.8109.
The yen weakens, with USD/JPY up 0.9% to 159.292. The move comes against a broader backdrop of a dollar that is not surging overall.
Commodity-linked and emerging market currencies are mixed. AUD/USD is flat at 0.7064, USD/CAD falls 0.2% to 1.3921, USD/MXN drops 0.4% to 17.072, and USD/BRL climbs 1.8% to 5.1716.
Several other pairs show quiet movement, including USD/CNY down 0.2% and USD/INR up 0.2%. The FX tape looks more like repositioning than a single broad trend.
