Asia and Europe mostly rise as Brazil lags

Global stocks are firmer in most places, but Brazil sells off hard.

In Asia, the Nikkei 225 jumps 2.1%, the Hang Seng gains 1.1%, and the Shanghai Composite rises 0.7%. The Kospi adds 0.7%, while the ASX 200 slips 0.3% and the Sensex inches up 0.1%.

Europe is mostly green. The DAX gains 0.0%, the CAC 40 adds 0.1%, the Stoxx 600 rises 0.0%, and the FTSE 100 slips 0.2%. The DAX and CAC both remain above their 50-day and 200-day moving averages.

Brazil is the clear outlier, with the Bovespa falling 2.5%. It is also below both its 50-day and 200-day moving averages.

The tone across global equities is broadly constructive, but the day is not a straight risk-on move. Several major indexes are up only slightly, which leaves the gains looking more like a pause than a breakout.
