Bitcoin slips while the broader crypto market cools

Crypto moves lower across the board, with bitcoin barely down and the total market cap easing to $2.3T.

Crypto trades softer overall. Bitcoin falls 0.1% to 63468.7, Ethereum slips 0.2% to 1878.0, Solana drops 0.8% to 75.55, XRP loses 1.6% to 1.0051, and Dogecoin falls 3.6% to 0.0692.

The total crypto market cap declines 0.35% to $2.3T. Bitcoin dominance stands at 56.3%, while Ethereum dominance is 10.0%. That mix says the market is still centered on bitcoin, even as the whole asset class softens a bit.

CoinDesk highlights two crypto-specific themes in the day’s news flow. One is Goldman Sachs’ buyout of NEOS, which expands its push into bitcoin income ETFs. Another is Solana network stress, after CoinDesk reports the chain nearly froze Wednesday.

The headline price action is still restrained compared with some of the day’s equity and commodity swings. XRP and Dogecoin are the weakest major coins in the set, while BNB falls 1.0% and BTC stays close to unchanged.
