Oil and Gold Climb, Gasoline Gets Hit

Crude and precious metals rise, while gasoline posts the sharpest drop in the group.

Energy markets are firm. WTI crude rises 1.4% to 82.4, and Brent gains 1.8% to 88.59. Both benchmarks remain above their 50-day and 200-day averages.

Gasoline is the clear outlier, falling 7.3% to 2.9008. Nat gas slips 0.4% to 2.715. The commodity tape is not moving as one block, even within the energy complex.

Precious metals are mixed but mostly strong. Gold rises 1.6% to 4432.0, platinum adds 1.8% to 1756.8, and copper inches up 0.2% to 6.6065. Silver is basically flat, down 0.1% to 64.825.

Ags also catch a bid. Corn jumps 8.0% to 483.75, wheat rises 5.6% to 689.0, soybeans gain 2.0% to 1191.25, and cocoa adds 2.4% to 5786.0. Coffee is the sharp loser, down 6.3% to 312.0.
