Index funds slip, while mixed stock and bond funds hold up unevenly
Broad-market funds mirror the softer U.S. tape, with equity exposure mostly lower and bonds mixed.
The major index funds track the day’s weak close. SPY falls 0.2% to 769.35, QQQ drops 0.7% to 716.43, IWM loses 1.4% to 295.75, and VTI slips 0.3% to 379.36.
The value and broad-market stock funds are a bit steadier. VFIAX rises 0.7% to 714.42, FXAIX gains 0.7% to 268.99, and VTSAX adds 0.7% to 185.32. VWelx also climbs 0.2% to 47.43.
Bond exposure is mixed. VBTLX slips 0.1% to 9.53, while TLT falls 0.3% to 82.88 and MUB dips 0.2% to 105.22.
GLD drops 3.2% to 408.89, matching the broader selloff in gold. The fund lineup mostly confirms the day’s pattern: softer growth, a weak small-cap tilt, and a pullback in defensive hedges.
