Bitcoin and ether slip as the crypto market cap shrinks

Major tokens trade lower while the overall crypto market loses ground.

Crypto closes lower across the board. Bitcoin falls 1.6% to 77259.4688, Ethereum drops 2.2% to 2413.1299, Solana declines 3.2% to 99.75, and XRP slips 2.4% to 1.3465.

BNB loses 1.5% to 680.77, and Dogecoin falls 1.7% to 0.0814. The total crypto market cap drops 4.1% to $2.6T.

Bitcoin still sits above its 50-day and 200-day averages, but its 14-day RSI is 75.7, while Ethereum’s is 73.0 and Solana’s is 72.3. Those are elevated readings, even after today’s pullback.

CoinDesk headlines frame the mood as more cautious into September, with policy uncertainty and rate-hike risk hanging over the asset class.
