The dollar barely moves as yen weakness stays in focus
Major FX pairs stay contained, with the yen still under the most pressure.
The dollar index slips 0.06% to 98.783, a modest move that leaves the greenback mostly steady on the day. EUR/USD rises 0.12% to 1.1641, GBP/USD adds 0.06% to 1.3553, and AUD/USD ticks up 0.03% to 0.7222.

The FX headlines also point to intervention and policy pressure in the background, with CNBC noting Japan’s foreign reserves drop by a record $80 billion in August following yen intervention.
