Oil tumbles, gas jumps, metals split
Energy commodities move in opposite directions, while metals and grains trade unevenly.
WTI crude falls 4.1% to 90.73 and Brent drops 3.1% to 96.22. Reuters headlines point to oil near two-week lows, while OilPrice flags slower Hormuz traffic and a longer losing streak for crude.
Natural gas bucks the move, rising 8.0% to 3.202. Gasoline, though, drops 5.6% to 3.2931. The energy complex is clearly not moving as one trade today.
Gold slips 0.7% to 4,348.0 and silver loses 0.4% to 65.64. Copper rises 0.6% to 6.8015 and sits near its 52-week high, while platinum falls 2.4% to 1,779.2.
Ags are mixed. Corn falls 1.2%, wheat drops 1.1%, soybeans slip 0.7%, coffee is little changed, sugar jumps 7.1%, and cocoa declines 1.8%.
