Dollar eases, but most major FX pairs stay rangebound
The dollar index slips, while the yen, euro, and commodity currencies move in different directions.
The dollar index falls 0.3% to 101.035, but it remains above both its 50-day and 200-day moving averages. That keeps the broader dollar trend firm even with the day’s pullback.
EUR/USD rises 0.1% to 1.1392, while USD/JPY falls 0.7% to 157.185. GBP/USD is nearly flat at 1.3246, and USD/CHF rises 0.4% to 0.8283.
Commodity-linked currencies are mixed. AUD/USD slips 0.1% to 0.7026, USD/CAD rises 0.2% to 1.4139, and USDBRL rises 0.4% to 5.1866. USD/MXN gains 0.8% to 17.676, while USD/KRW falls 0.5% to 1355.28.
The broader FX backdrop still tracks high U.S. yields. FXStreet headlines point to higher Treasury yields, and that rate move lines up with strength in the dollar against several peers over the week.
