Index funds mostly rise, but bond funds stay under strain

Equity funds track the green U.S. tape, while the main bond fund keeps sliding.

Equity index funds finish higher. SPY rises 0.5%, QQQ gains 0.5%, VFIAX edges down 0.0%, FXAIX slips 0.0%, and VTI adds 0.5%. EFA rises 1.0%.

The rate-sensitive side stays weaker. TLT falls 0.1%, VBTLX drops 0.5%, and GLD rises 0.4% even though it remains below its 200-day average.

IWM gains 0.1% but still lags the large-cap funds on the day. That matches the broader picture of a session led by blue chips and megacaps more than small caps.

The mix mirrors the index action: large-cap equities are stable, while bonds and rate-sensitive exposures keep feeling the heat from higher yields.
