Yields climb while bond funds stay under pressure

Treasury rates move higher across the curve, and bond proxies finish mostly lower.

U.S. Treasury yields push higher again. The 5-Yr ends at 5.068%, the 10-Yr at 5.24%, and the 30-Yr at 5.561%.

The move keeps pressure on bond funds. TLT slips 0.1%, LQD edges up 0.1%, HYG is down 0.0%, and MUB falls 0.4%.

The rates backdrop stays tight by longer-term standards. The 10-Yr sits above its 50-day moving average of 4.78% and its 200-day moving average of 4.43%.

Credit and muni proxies remain softer on the week and month. LQD is down 1.4% over the week and 2.9% over the month, while MUB is down 1.7% on the week and 3.8% on the month.
