Oil and gas hold up as metals sell off
Energy is mixed, but precious metals and grains are broadly weaker.
WTI crude rises 1.1% to 93.42, while Brent drops 5.2% to 98.85. Gasoline falls 6.9% to 3.1595 and nat gas dips 1.9% to 3.135.
Precious metals are under heavy pressure. Gold falls 4.0% to 4147.5, silver drops 5.1% to 60.945, and platinum loses 2.5% to 1730.6.
Industrial metals are softer too, with copper down 1.3% to 6.612.
Agricultural contracts mostly fade. Corn falls 1.3%, wheat drops 2.4%, and soybeans lose 2.6%, while sugar jumps 6.1% to 18.57 and coffee rises 3.5% to 288.4.
