Broad stock funds edge higher even as the index slips
Stock funds are mixed, with equity ETFs up and bond funds under pressure.
U.S. stock funds track the stronger long-term trend in equities. VFIAX rises 0.5%, FXAIX gains 0.5%, VTSAX adds 0.5%, and VTI climbs 0.5%.
ETF action is similarly constructive. SPY rises 0.5%, QQQ gains 0.5%, DIA adds 0.9%, and EFA advances 1.0%.
Bond funds remain weaker. VBTLX gains 0.2% on the day but is down 0.9% over the week and 2.4% over the month, while TLT slips 0.1% and sits below its 50-day and 200-day averages.
The split mirrors the day’s broader market tone, where equities are uneven but longer-duration rates stay elevated.
