Bitcoin holds near record territory as the crypto market cools
Prices are mostly steady, but the broader crypto complex loses ground.
Bitcoin rises 0.1% to 83675.3125 and Ethereum adds 0.1% to 2679.6899. Both remain above their 50-day and 200-day moving averages.
The broader market is weaker. Total crypto market cap falls 2.6% to $2.9T. Bitcoin dominance sits at 58.3%, while Ethereum dominance is 11.4%.
Altcoins are mixed. Solana falls 0.9%, XRP rises 0.2%, BNB gains 1.2%, and Dogecoin adds 0.8%.
Crypto headlines focus on policy and infrastructure, including a CoinDesk report on the industry lobby push around the Clarity Act and another on OpenAI, Google, and Meta pledging independent AI safety audits.
