Oil slips while metals and sugar jump
Crude extends its decline, but copper, silver, platinum, and sugar all move sharply higher.
WTI crude falls 2.0% to 89.31 and Brent drops 2.0% to 100.22. Gasoline also slides, down 2.6% to 3.2271.
Metals trade stronger. Silver rises 2.4% to 61.4, copper gains 2.3% to 6.6415, and platinum adds 2.8% to 1730.5. Gold edges up 0.2% to 4170.8999.
Agriculture is mixed, with wheat up 1.2%, soybeans up 0.2%, corn essentially flat, and coffee up 1.6%.
Sugar stands out, jumping 4.3% to 20.78 and extending its one-week gain to 19.0%. Cocoa also rises 3.2% to 5852.0.
