Large-cap stock funds outpace bond funds
Equity index funds rise with stocks, while the bond benchmark slips.
Broad stock funds finish higher. SPY rises 0.7%, VFIAX gains 0.7%, VTSAX adds 0.7%, FXAIX climbs 0.7%, and VTI rises 0.7%.
QQQ outperforms with a 0.9% gain, matching the Nasdaq’s lead. IWM also rises 0.7%, while DIA adds 0.2% and EFA inches up 0.1%.
On the fixed-income side, TLT falls 0.5% and VBTLX drops 0.2%. VWELX rises 0.5%, reflecting a mixed day for balanced exposure.
GLD slips 0.2%, matching the softer gold tape, while the major stock funds all stay above their 200-day averages.
