Delta Air Lines absorbs its highest quarterly fuel expense
The carrier also recorded record revenue for the quarter, even as profit fell after it took on the biggest fuel cost in company history.
Delta Air Lines absorbed what it said was the highest quarterly fuel expense in its history, a cost increase that weighed on its results, MarketWatch reports.
The outlet said Delta’s profit dropped as the airline took on those elevated fuel costs rather than passing them through.
At the same time, Delta booked record revenue for the quarter, underscoring how higher sales did not fully offset the impact of fuel spending.
