Warsh says Fed should change policy to end inflation
Warsh framed the inflation problem as an ongoing burden on Americans and said the Fed needs a new monetary-policy approach.
CNBC reports that Kevin Warsh said he wants the Federal Reserve to shift to a different monetary-policy regime to tackle inflation that has persisted for years.
In his remarks, Warsh said the goal should be to “get monetary policy right” and defeat what he described as an inflation “tax” on American people.
The CNBC item also emphasizes that Warsh characterized the inflation challenge as something that has bedeviled the central bank for about five years.
