Silicon Labs validates large-scale Matter-over-Thread network in Boston
The test hit 100% commissioning success and operated a 200-node Matter-over-Thread validation network amid active Wi-Fi and Bluetooth interference.
Silicon Laboratories Inc. demonstrated what it says is large-scale Matter-over-Thread networking capability by operating a 200-node validation network within its Boston office, according to Yahoo Finance.
The deployment was designed to show Matter technology is ready for more complex environments beyond simple residential smart home use cases, including commercial buildings, multi-dwelling units, and industrial IoT applications.
Yahoo Finance says the project validated scalability and reliability under real-world conditions, including interference from active Wi-Fi and Bluetooth traffic, with consistent multicast and unicast performance.
The outlet reports the results included 100% commissioning success and that the company used an OpenThread Border Router alongside proprietary Concurrent Multiprotocol technology to support multiple wireless protocols simultaneously.
