AI recruitment startup Refer charges job seekers 20% of first salary
Refer’s AI agent, Lia, can send introductions to hiring managers, and the company says more than half of users get an interview within 24 hours.
AI recruitment startup Refer is taking a different approach to job hunting by charging job seekers, rather than employers, for access to the service, according to Yahoo Finance.
The company says job seekers must give up 20% of their first month’s salary once they start a new job. Refer also says its AI agent, called Lia, searches for role matches based on a candidate’s preferences and can email hiring managers on the job seeker’s behalf if the user allows it.
Refer says it has facilitated over 5,000 interviews to date, with more than half of users securing an interview within 24 hours of an introduction. After both sides express interest, users can request up to five introductions per day, while employers have three days to respond.
The startup says it works with about 2,000 employers and has a database spanning 7,000 jobs, with an emphasis on software engineering and other tech roles, while its human staff handles relationship building with decision makers at top technology companies.
