Adani Power Q1 profit rises 42% to ₹4,806 crore

Adani Power posted a 42% year on year jump in June-quarter net profit attributable to equity holders to ₹4,806 crore, while revenue from operations rose 34.0% to ₹18,902 crore, the company reported in its Q1 FY27 results.

In the same quarter, consolidated continuing EBITDA increased 21.6% year on year to a record ₹6,983 crore, although the firm pointed to elevated fuel costs. It also recognized one-time revenue of ₹1,386.3 crore tied to revisions of historical energy charges under certain power purchase agreements.

Adani Power said fuel costs grew 30.15% year on year to ₹9,512.7 crore, driven by higher generation volumes and higher landed costs of imported coal, while operating expenses rose with its expanding generation capacity and scale.

The board approved a plan to raise up to ₹15,000 crore through a Qualified Institutions Placement or other eligible securities, subject to regulatory and shareholder approvals, and the company said it continues progress toward its 45 GW expansion target and is pursuing additional power acquisitions and projects, including hydropower and potential nuclear power opportunities.
