HDFC Bank shares fall for third straight session after Q1FY27 results

The stock was down 1.2% to ₹752.45 on BSE, while net interest margin slipped to 3.26% from 3.38% sequentially in the June-ended quarter.

HDFC Bank shares extended their decline for a third straight session on Wednesday, July 22, after the lender reported its first-quarter earnings for FY27. LiveMint Markets said the stock fell 1.2% to ₹752.45 on BSE, after losing more than 8% over three sessions.

The bank reported standalone net profit of ₹19,060 crore for the April to June quarter, up 5% year-on-year from ₹18,155 crore a year earlier. It also reported net interest income of ₹33,534 crore, up 7% year-on-year.

However, margins remained a focus for investors. LiveMint Markets reported HDFC Bank's net interest margin declined to 3.26% from 3.38% sequentially, even as gross non-performing assets declined more than 3% year-on-year to ₹35,846 crore.

Asset quality was mixed, with net NPAs edging up marginally to ₹12,357 crore. Gross NPAs were 1.17% of gross advances as of June 30, 2026, while net NPAs were 0.41%, with the bank's total balance sheet expanding to ₹43.97 lakh crore from ₹39.54 lakh crore a year earlier.
