Peacock added subscribers with Spanish-language World Cup broadcast
NBCUniversal said Spanish-language World Cup coverage helped bring in new subscribers, and executives noted advertisers are increasingly watching the audience.
CNBC Markets reports that Peacock has seen a lift in subscribers after airing a Spanish-language telecast of the World Cup.
The outlet says Peacock executives attributed the growth to the expanded Spanish-language offering and said advertisers are taking notice as the audience builds.
Executives also indicated that advertiser interest is linked to the platform's ability to attract viewers through the World Cup broadcast.
