The firm’s Small-Mid Growth Composite returned 28.4% gross and 28.2% net of fees in Q2 2026, versus 24.0% for the Russell 2500 Growth Index.
Polen Capital highlighted BWX Technologies in its second-quarter 2026 investor letter for the Polen 5Perspectives Small-Mid Growth Strategy, pointing to the company’s nuclear components and services business as investors rotated during the quarter.
According to the letter, BWX Technologies supplies nuclear components and services primarily for the U.S. Navy, while also expanding its presence in commercial nuclear power and advanced reactor technologies.
The fund noted that BWX Technologies shares lagged during the quarter despite what it described as solid fundamentals, attributing the underperformance to shifting investor enthusiasm toward higher-beta AI and technology beneficiaries during a broader market rally.
The letter also framed the strategy’s performance backdrop, saying the composite portfolio returned 28.4% gross and 28.2% net of fees in Q2 2026, compared with a 24.0% gain for the Russell 2500 Growth Index.
