Oklo selected for $200 million program to speed AI data center reactors
The DOE approved a safety analysis for Oklo's Groves Isotope Test Reactor in Texas in July, and the company says it targets first commercial power at Idaho National Laboratory by late 2027.
Oklo has been selected alongside X-Energy for a $200 million U.S. government program aimed at accelerating nuclear reactor deployment for AI data centers, according to Yahoo Finance.
The article says tech partners include Microsoft and NVIDIA, and it also points to July approval by the U.S. Department of Energy of the Documented Safety Analysis for Oklo's Groves Isotope Test Reactor in Texas.
Yahoo Finance adds that Oklo shares were closed at $44.13 on July 21, 2026, after being down 38.5% year to date and about 29.4% over the past year.
The piece also cites an investment thesis that includes a customer pipeline near 14 GW, a stated target for first commercial power at Idaho National Laboratory by late 2027, and a model price target of $97.74 for the next 12 months, alongside notes on $0 FY2024 revenue and 19% short interest limiting near-term conviction.
