PVR Inox swings to profit in Q1 as revenue and margins rise

The multiplex operator reported net cash of ₹80.7 crore as of June 30, 2026, and said it is on track to open 90 to 100 new screens in FY27.

PVR Inox reported a swing to a consolidated net profit of ₹56.5 crore for the quarter ended June 2026, compared with a net loss of ₹54.5 crore in the year-earlier period, helping its shares rise more than 5% on the BSE, LiveMint Markets reported.

Revenue from operations increased 11.9% year over year to ₹1,622.2 crore, while EBITDA climbed 30.8% to ₹528 crore and the EBITDA margin expanded to 32.5% from 27.8%. The company also said average ticket price rose 8% year over year to ₹273 and average food and beverage spend per head increased 9% to ₹161.

Operationally, PVR Inox recorded 36.6 million admissions in the quarter, up 8% year over year. As of June 30, 2026, it operated 1,779 screens across 113 cities in India and Sri Lanka.

The company said it turned net cash positive during the quarter, with net cash of ₹80.7 crore, which it said gives it strategic flexibility to pursue a capital light growth plan funded through internal accruals. PVR Inox also stated it remains on track to open 90 to 100 new screens in FY27 and highlighted an encouraging content pipeline for the remainder of the fiscal year.
