Thematic investing is reshaping how fund managers seek alpha
Marble Bar Asset Management says macro-driven markets are changing what it considers alpha and highlights traits it looks for when selecting investment teams.
Thematic investing is increasingly displacing traditional single-stock selection as investors look for more systematic ways to capture returns, according to Hedgeweek.
In an interview, Martin Bendersky, co-managing director at Marble Bar Asset Management, said macro-driven market conditions are redefining how managers generate alpha.
He also argued that despite the shift toward themes, multi-manager platforms still have a role, and he described the qualities Marble Bar looks for when choosing investment teams.
