SpaceX sets Aug. 4 earnings date, with early share unlock starting Aug. 6
SpaceX plans its first public-quarter release for the June 30 quarter on Aug. 4 after the close, and Aug. 6 would be the first day early-release-eligible holders can sell on Nasdaq.
Space Exploration Technologies, listed on Nasdaq as SpaceX (SPCX), has scheduled its earnings release for the quarter ended June 30 for Aug. 4, according to Yahoo Finance. The company will follow the release with an earnings call with Wall Street analysts at 4:30 p.m. ET after market close.
Yahoo Finance also highlighted why investors may focus on Aug. 6, when the first potential wave of early-release-eligible shares becomes eligible to trade on Nasdaq. The timeline ties the sale eligibility to the public release of SpaceX’s Aug. 4 quarterly financial results.
SpaceX went public June 12, raising $75 billion by selling 555 million shares at $135, and then $10.7 billion more after underwriters exercised options. As of July 20 close at $119.85, the stock was down 47% from its intraday high and 11.2% from its IPO price.
The article points to SpaceX’s May 20 Form S-1 filing, which describes an unlocking schedule for restricted shares faster than the typical 180-day period for IPOs. It says early release eligible shares may be made available for sale on or after the second full trading day on Nasdaq immediately following the public release of the June 30 earnings, making Aug. 6 the first key date since the IPO.
