Intel reports a standout AI-driven quarter, shares up sharply year over year
Intel said AI-related businesses, led by its foundry operations, drove results that exceeded Wall Street expectations, helping lift the stock about 322% over the past year.
Intel’s latest quarterly update showed revenue, profit, and guidance topping Wall Street expectations, with the results attributed largely to performance in its AI-related businesses, according to Yahoo Finance.
The report highlights Intel’s foundry operations as a key contributor, pointing to progress in its advanced 14A manufacturing process after the company previously warned it could abandon the node if it failed to attract a major outside customer.
The milestone matters because winning external customers supports Intel’s manufacturing ambitions and gives the company another route to participate in the AI buildout beyond selling processors, the outlet said.
Even with a recent retreat from an all-time high, Intel shares have climbed about 322% over the past 12 months, underscoring how the turnaround has surprised investors, Yahoo Finance added.
