Trump backs Kevin Warsh and calls for lower US interest rates

The remarks come as Trump said other Fed officials had “bad intentions,” while he argued the country should carry the lowest rates globally.

President Trump said he supports Federal Reserve Chairman Kevin Warsh, describing Warsh in positive terms, according to CNBC Markets.

Trump also argued that the United States should have the lowest interest rates in the world, tying his stance on the Fed to his broader view of monetary policy.

In the same remarks, Trump characterized other Fed officials as having “bad intentions,” framing his push for lower rates around internal Fed motivations.
