AI hardware stocks face pressure as China DUV lithography fears spread
Asian stocks sold off sharply after reports that China can manufacture DUV lithography machines, raising uncertainty for chip-equipment suppliers tied to the AI buildout.
MarketWatch reports that Asian markets sold off sharply on Tuesday amid concerns that China is now capable of manufacturing deep ultraviolet, or DUV, lithography machines.
The outlet said the news is fueling fears that the so-called picks and shovels trade for AI hardware may be weakening as investors reassess exposure to chipmaking equipment.
